It’s been 85 years since the world first heard Judy Garland sing about a place “somewhere over the rainbow,” and her star power is just as potent as it was then. Why? What is it about Judy that continues to build new generations of infatuated admirers? Join Jenna Pastuszek and Broadway Music Director Joshua Zecher-Ross in this 100th birthday celebration of the world’s greatest entertainer. With “lavishly clever arrangements”, and “witty, endearing personal stories”, this isn’t a traditional Judy Garland tribute — there will be no impersonation here. Instead, lifelong Judy fans will love the cleverly curated playlist of beloved classics and forgotten gems while millennials and Gen Zers will discover an artist who transcends time. It’s time to celebrate live entertainment again, and “forget your troubles, come on, GET HAPPY!”
As the half-blood son of a Greek god, Percy Jackson has newly-discovered powers he can't control, a destiny he doesn't want, and a mythology textbook's worth of monsters on his trail. When Zeus's master lightning bolt is stolen and Percy becomes the prime suspect, he has to find and return the bolt to prove his innocence and prevent a war between the gods. But to succeed on his quest, Percy will have to do more than catch the thief. He must travel to the Underworld and back; solve the riddle of the Oracle, which warns him of betrayal by a friend; and come to terms with the father who abandoned him.

Okay, let’s get real. We all have those moments that are just a little too juicy for the office. Maybe it was naughty online gift that that accidentally got sent to the office and was opened. Or that time you wore your “Friday” outfit on a Monday and your boss definitely noticed. Or maybe you just had an epic “oops” moment that would make HR question your judgment—and we’re here for it. We’re looking for those stories that are a little too spicy, a little too outrageous, and a lot too hilarious to ever be shared in a meeting. Think work fails, funny slip-ups, or maybe even something you wish you could un-see but won’t ever forget. Share your “Not Suitable for Work” tales with us—because sometimes the best stories happen when we forget to filter ourselves. (And, no, we won’t tell HR.) Join First Person Arts’ and our host for the evening comedian Lamarr Todd for Philly’s original (and best!) storytelling competition. Our scorekeeper, local celebrity guest judges, and an audience judge will score the stories and give our storytellers helpful hints on how to improve their tales. The winner takes home $100 and bragging rights until next year.
