Youth Audition Information

The Lightning Thief: (ages 13-18)
Sign up for a time slot at the link below. Auditions are on January 9th at 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM. Some may be asked to stay for invited callbacks from 8:00 PM- 8:30 PM
Honk Jr.: (ages 6-13) January 16th at 5:00 PM. Everyone should arrive at 5:00PM. There is a link to the right to sign up and let us know you are attending.

The Lightning Thief: Anyone 13-18 years old can audition for The Lightning Thief.
Honk Jr.: Anyone 6-13 years old can audition for Honk Jr. You must be 6 by the audition date. All auditioners under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The Lightning Thief: You may be asked to stay after your audition for a callback on the same day. Please be familiar with the show as those asked to stay may be asked to sing from the show.
Honk Jr.: If invited, callbacks will occur on January 26th at 1:00PM. Invitations to callbacks will be emailed out to parents.

It is always best to bring a water bottle with you.
Lightning Thief: Bring a binder with your sheet music printed out. Music should be double sided, clearly marked, and in the correct key. You may not sing acapella.
Honk Jr.: We will have all of the music printed out and provided for you. No need to bring music unless you have not memorized it.

Lightning Thief: $700
Honk Jr. : $200
There is a production fee should your child be selected for the cast. This fee goes towards ensuring the education department at The Media Theatre can continue to create programming like this. There is no fee to audition. There are scholarship opportunities, please reach out to education@mediatheatre.org to learn more about the scholarships that we offer.

The Lightning Thief: Rehearsals are Monday, February 1st through Thursday, February 20th. Monday through Friday from 4:30-7:30pm and Saturdays from 11am-4pm.
Performances are February 21st, 22nd, 27th, 28th, and March 1st at 7pm, February 22nd and March 1st at 2pm, and February 23rd at 3pm.

Honk Jr.: Rehearsals are Monday, February 17th through Friday, March 7th. Monday through Friday from 4:30-7:00pm and Saturday from 11am-4pm.
Performances run Saturdays and Sundays at 11am from March 8th to March 30th. There are additional weekday performances on March 14th, 20th, and 28th at 10am. Please note that these performances are during the traditional school day.

Youth Ensemble Series
The Youth Ensemble Series proudly produces four junior or youth edition productions each year, catering to students aged 6-18. With casts of up to 30 our lineup includes three shows for ages 6-13 and one production for ages 14-18. Designed to complement our academic classes, these productions offer students the invaluable opportunity to audition, rehearse, and perform in a safe and supportive environment.
Every step of the process is enriching, whether it’s a child’s first audition or a returning performer from previous productions. While there is a small production fee for those selected to participate, this fee supports essential elements such as props, sets, costumes, and staffing, ensuring a memorable experience for every participant.
The selected cast rehearses for 30 hours typically 4:30-7:00 Monday Through Friday and 11:00 AM-4:00 PM on weekends. This can shift slightly depending on the age of cast members. The performances are weekends and occasionally Friday Matinees where we perform for local schools.

Moana
Our teen show was Snoopy The Musical. We look forward to the rest of our season with our 6-13 year old students. Each production rehearses for three weeks prior to performances. Auditions typically occur a month before the start of each rehearsal process and information is regularly updated and can be found above.
