  • THE MEDIA THEATRE is seeking an experienced Costume Designer forits upcoming 2025 production of GREASE. The Media Theatre is a LOA in reference to LORT. Stipend designer fee with possible additional hourly rates.  As a pre-condition of employment it is required to have the requisite clearances for criminal and child abuse clearances from the State Police, Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, and the FBI. 


    Expected duties include (but not limited to):

    • Provide a design within budget and time constraints.

    • Attend all Production Meetings either in person or via Zoom.

    • Collaborate with the Director & Technical Director on all pre-production concepts.

    • Mandatory attendance to Designer Run.

    • Report to the Technical Director/Production Manager the intended vision.

    • Work with the given materials and advise Production Team and Technical Director on appropriate avenues of achieving additional resources.

    • Attend all scheduled technical rehearsals.

    • Collaborate with Director of each production in creating a cohesive design before rehearsals    begin.

    • Create a comprehensive schedule and responsibility delegation of required work (Pulling from stock, purchasing, building, etc.)

    • Ability to adapt to a varied schedule

    • Proficiency in software including but not limited to:

    Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel

    Tech Begins: April 25, 2025

    Previews: April 30 - May 1, 2025

    Opening: May 2, 2025

  • Seeking a Piano Teacher for private lessons with students ages 5 and up at Media Theatre. The Piano teacher will work individually with students to further their technique and training in piano and expand their repertoire. Students, ages 5 and up, will meet one on one with the piano teacher to engage in general piano training, curriculum-based exercises and practice competencies. Media Theatre already has a roster of students excited to work with you! This position is considered an independent contractor and as such will be responsible for creating and executing their own schedule to ensure the growth and development of student piano skills.

    The ideal candidate will:

    • Have experience teaching and instructing students with their own personal catalog of curriculum and exercises, and are expected to create a custom-fit style plan for each individual student.

    • Provide digital or physical content of appropriate music to suggest to students. It would be the responsibility of the student to acquire sheet music in regards to lessons & training.

    DETAILS

    • Piano Teachers may access Media Theatre’s inventory of scores, with the understanding that all primary copies are to be returned to its records. Copies may be made and a print allotment of 25 pages per week will be in place. 

    • Piano Teachers will use the allotted pianos & spaces, with the understanding that the Broadway Series productions and Youth Ensemble Series productions take priority should a scheduling conflict arise. 

    • Piano Teachers will be solely responsible for scheduling their own lessons with students, directly communicating to them and/or their parents/guardians. Typical schedule consists of two days a week.

    • Never have to worry about payment. The theatre will ensure payment of each student and will pay the Piano teacher in accordance.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Piano ability required.

    • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.

    • Experience leading and teaching in an individual setting.

    • Knowledge of office software, especially Google Docs, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Calendar, and Zoom.

    • Excellent musicianship and experience teaching students at various ability levels.

    • Diplomacy and tact when working with a range of people and personalities.

    • Self-motivated, honest, proactive, thoughtful, and composed.

    • Individual initiative. 

    TIMELINE & COMPENSATION

    Camp Counselors

    Keep an eye on all campers and enforce rules of respect during each of their scheduled blocks of acting, music, and dance. Throughout the day the Counselors will lead theater workshops, exercises and games. Counselors will be tasked with coordination of props and costumes and maintaining safety backstage. Counselors will lead warm ups in the areas of acting, music and dance.

    Acting Instructor

    Independently lead acting classes, under the direction of the Camp Manager. The Acting Instructor will create their own lesson plans and activities for day to day camp. The Acting Instructor will assist the campers in the creation of an age appropriate performance.
