Education at The Media Theatre
For those who are diving into the world of theatre for the first time, or for those who are continuing to hone their craft: we offer classes, lessons, workshops and performance opportunities to all who are interested! Classes open to all levels and abilities. Programs for kids K-12 vary between weekly meetings and "pick and choose" style options. Check out our class descriptions below!
Acting Classes for Ages 6-18
Welcome to the world of theatre! Through games, movement, guided storytelling and more, young actors will create their own original performance piece to share with family and friends at the end of this eight week course.
Allow your young star to make new friends and try something new while developing skills such as: stage presence, body language, spacial awareness, vocal dynamics and individual expression, all while discovering the joy of performance.
Dance Classes for Ages 6-18
Learn the basics of theatrical movement and creative thinking with your body. Begin to assemble the basic rules of Jazz and Ballet. Perform a new combination each week to classic musical theatre and your favorite popular songs. Build confidence and express yourself in a safe environment. We welcome disabled and neurodivergent children as well as those who are nondisabled. No experience necessary, all levels welcome
Camp Media Theatre for Ages 6-13
Spend your summer at the Media Theatre! REGISTRATION WILL OPEN IN SPRING 2025. Please check back for registration details.
The Media Theatre offers two-week summer camp sessions for kids and teens 5 to 14 years old. Camp Media Theatre is Delaware County’s premier theatre camp produced by a working professional theatre and provides an exciting opportunity for kids to participate in the magic of musical theatre at an early age.
Camp Media Theatre consists of two types of camps. 6 Two week sessions with a final showcase every other Friday. All ages between 6-13 are welcome. Your kids will learn how to sing, act, and dance. Hours are from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM Monday-Friday.
Themed Camp: Where campers devise a performance around a specific theme.
Performance Camp: Where every camper arrives on the first day to audition for a specific show. Parts are given out and rehearsal starts right away.
Regardless of which camp is right for your child, each camp provides performance opportunities for all.
Attendance and Makeups: The Media Theatre does not guarantee that classes canceled due to circumstances beyond our control (i.e. weather, power outage) will be made up; no refunds will be issued. We do not offer makeup classes due to a child’s inability to attend.
Workshop Series for Ages 12-18
For students deeply interested in every aspect of the theater. We offer one day 1.5 hour workshops where students can delve into various theatrical topics. Featuring a rotating staff of working theatrical professionals. students can take one workshop or all 5!
