"Honk!" is the story of Ugly, whose odd, gawky looks instantly incite prejudice from his family and neighbors. Separated from the farm and pursued by a hungry Cat, Ugly must find his way home. Along his journey he not only discovers his true beauty but finds love and acceptance in all its forms. "Honk!" is witty and heart-warming and will delight audiences of all ages.

Special Event: The Roxborough Orchestra

Join the Roxborough Orchestra, Michael Ludwig, and celebrated author Jan Swafford for a journey through the life and times of the iconic composer Ludwig van Beethoven. This unique concert event will feature the two Beethoven Romances for violin and orchestra and Beethoven’s monumental Eroica Symphony. Walk back in time to experience these masterpieces in the context of Beethoven’s world.

Story Series: Discovering Blackness

April 2-6

The year is 2032, and Prince Washington Institute has announced it’s launch of a groundbreaking yet controversial campus-wide 'raceless' social experiment. Seeking a sense of belonging, Astrophysics major Destiny Maria Jones discovers the Black Student Union, which is on the brink of extinction. Energized by the group's resilience and resistance, Destiny joins the fight to navigate and challenge the institution's experiment. Drawing connections between her studies and activism, Destiny redefines her relationship to herself, PWI, and her place in the universe. Below is a Discovering Blackness Event Breakdown from OMG! This is for us! Join us for the ultimate celebration of Black joy and culture with added activities like a photobooth, games, and a beautifully Blackity Black space. It’s more than a performance—it’s a vibe!

Story Series: New Musicals Festival

April 11-13

Theatre on the Verge presents their 2nd Annual New Musicals Festival, featuring staged readings and excerpts from 9 new musicals created by emerging writers. Performances in Media Theatre’s Crystal Room will be followed by feedback sessions to help the writers continue to develop their shows for future productions. Theatre on the Verge requires masks for audience members, which can be provided if anyone cannot provide their own. This event is Pay-What-You-Can.

Poison Garden

Join Alterra Productions for an immersive, sandbox-style experience. You are able to wander sections of the theatre freely, including never-before-seen areas that hearken back to its beginnings in 1927. The different floors are accessible by stairs or an elevator. There is no specific “seating area” although there are places for audience to temporarily sit as they observe the company of actors throughout the evening. There is a cash bar available, as well as small bites. The show runs approximately 70 minutes, and afterwards there will be a talkback featuring cast and crew.
