Chris Nee Comedy Night

A stand up comedy show with some of Philadelphia's funniest comedians benefitting Toys for Tots. Along with a ticket purchase we ask but it is not required that audience members bring toys to be donated to Toys for Tots in order to help struggling families around Philadelphia during Christmas time.

Chris Nee is a comedian, author, podcaster, and mental health advocate from Delco. You can catch him performing in comedy clubs all over Philadelphia and New Jersey, he has also opened for national acts. Chris is also the creator of the stand up comedy show "Comedy to Break the Stigma" where he sells out theatres teaming up with mental health organizations to help break the stigma on mental health and to raise money for different causes.

 

His debut book Boy Meets Anxiety was released last year and in the first week of it's release it hit the top 100 self help books on Amazon. You can also check out his podcast on YouTube titled "Normalize Anxiety Podcast".

 

Headliner: Chip Chantry

Chip has been a staple in the Philadelphia comedy scene for years, his momentum is hot coming off of starring in Netflix's hit comedy show Tires and the release of his debut comedy special "Move Closer" which is available on YouTube. In 2013 he won Philly's Phunniest Competition at Helium Comedy Club and was named Best Comedian in 2018 by Philadelphia Magazine. He has worked with comedy legends such as Dave Chappelle and Bob Saget.

From the first time Joey Callahan saw Dick Van Dyke trip over the ottoman, he knew he wanted to work in comedy. He has headlined clubs and casinos all over the United States, Canada, and The United Kingdom. He has performed his one man show at the prestigious Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. He is a regular at the Borgata in Atlantic City and has appeared on Comedy Central, ESPN, Fox TV, and the BBC. Clean, fast, and full of energy, Callahan is sure to please any audience he is in front of! Meghan Hanley, is a Brooklyn based, internationally touring stand-up comedian, who has been featured in Forbes, and appeared on AXSTV’s “Gotham Comedy Live,” The MSG Network, DreamsTV,  Fox’s “Laughs” and “Red Eye.” In 2023, her Dry Bar Comedy Special “Friends with Kids,” premiered on The App and her comedy album, “This Happy,” debuted at number 1 on the iTunes charts. In addition to hearing her album on Sirius Satellite Radio, you can also find “This Happy,” The Special, on Meghan’s YouTube Channel. Hanley’s quick wit and upbeat persona have led to her being featured in several Festivals, and two tours with Armed Forces Entertainment, providing laughter to our Troops overseas. She is also a favorite for fundraisers, and corporate clients, including The NFL, Bank of America, The Girl Scouts, Intel and Samsung. As a writer/presenter, Meghan co-wrote and co-hosted the program for Fordham University’s Inaugural Athletics Gala, as well as Advertising Week NY’s “The Future is Female Awards.” Additionally, Meghan smiles a lot, which some people find suspicious, but mostly endearing.

Ed McGonigal has been performing in nightclubs and theaters on the east coast for years. He has been heard on the Opie & Anthony Show, and other numerous Philadelphia radio stations. He has also been recurring on many Philadelphia TV stations.

JOSHUA ZECHER-ROSS has worked on 100s of productions and performances in New York and around North America as a music supervisor and director, conductor, pianist, and arranger. Broadway: Be More Chill (conductor sub), Once Upon a One More Time (keyboard sub), Some Like it Hot (rehearsal pianist). Recently: The Marvelous Wonderettes (Alabama Shakespeare Festival), A Christmas Carol (Denver Center), The Louder We Get (Theatre Calgary). Other regional: Barrington Stage Company, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, George Street Playhouse, Sharon Playhouse, and The Little Theatre on the Square (Sullivan, Illinois) where he also served as artistic director. Joshua is the composer of RESCUE RUE, a musical for young audiences, which recently had an off-Broadway run, and is the music director and arranger for several shows currently in development. Join Alterra Productions for an immersive, sandbox-style experience. You are able to wander sections of the theatre freely, including never-before-seen areas that hearken back to its beginnings in 1927. The different floors are accessible by stairs or an elevator. There is no specific “seating area” although there are places for audience to temporarily sit as they observe the company of actors throughout the evening. There is a cash bar available, as well as small bites. The show runs approximately 70 minutes, and afterwards there will be a talkback featuring cast and crew.

It's the first day after winter break at East High. The Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians and Skater Dudes find their cliques, recount their vacations and look forward to the new year. Basketball team captain and resident jock, Troy, discovers that the brainy Gabriella, a girl he met singing karaoke on his ski trip, has just enrolled at East High. They cause an upheaval when they decide to audition for the high school musical that is being led by Ms. Darbus. Although many students resent the threat posed to the "status quo," Troy and Gabriella's alliance might just open the door for others to shine as well.
